Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional.
                    Urinary tract infection (UTI)

A urinary tract infection is an infection that begins in your urinary system. Your urinary system is composed of the kidneys, ureters, bladder and urethra. Any part of your urinary system can become infected, but most infections involve the lower urinary tract the bladder and the urethra. Urinary tract infections don't always cause signs and symptoms, but when they do they may include:

A strong, persistent urge to urinate
A burning sensation when urinating
Passing frequent, small amounts of urine
Urine that appears cloudy
Urine that appears bright pink or cola colored a sign of blood in the urine
Strong-smelling urine
Pelvic pain, in women
Rectal pain, in men

Urinary tract infections typically occur when bacteria enter the urinary tract through the urethra and begin to multiply in the bladder. Although the urinary system is designed to keep out such microscopic invaders, the defenses sometimes fail. When that happens, bacteria may take hold and grow into a full-blown infection in the urinary tract.

Antibiotics are typically used to treat urinary tract infections. Which drugs are prescribed and for how long depend on your health condition and the type of bacterium found in your urine. For women who are prone to chronic urinary tract infections, or who have repeated UTIs, the use of antibiotics for each new infection can reduce the body's own ability to fight urinary infection. In a chronic situation, natural herbal remedies may be the preferred option.

Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) takes the broad view on things like urinary tract infections (UTIs). The focus is not solely on the removal of unhealthy bacteria through the use of antibiotics. Instead, traditional Chinese medicine has an energy-based perspective. TCM uses acupuncture and Chinese herbal formulas as its primary treatments. An herbal formula can wipe out the urinary infection and can also enhance the immune system, which will leave the body stronger and more able to beat future infections and are safe enough to take over a longer period of time. Many Chinese herbal formulas will treat urinary tract infections. The patient's symptoms will determine which Chinese herbal formula is most appropriate. As part of a urinary tract infection cure, acupuncture can be very helpful in relieving pain during infection. A prolonged acupuncture treatment can also be quite effective in strengthening functions of the immune system and prevent recurrent infections..
